Fluidized Beds offer a number of advantages in a variety of applications, and hence take on a wide range of characteristics, The variety of solids, process goals, and mechanical constraints make for a wide range of research topics. Over the years, Pemm-Corp has been involved in a staggeringly diverse projects related to fluid beds. We were the main research facility involved with a number of FCC stripper innovations currently being marketed for example. We have operating fluid beds as deep as 30 feet (54" diameter). We have been on the forefront of technology with respect to a number of topics, including particle coating, bed internals (for staging, vibration reduction...), bubbling versus streaming flow, solids discharge metering, entrainment determination and suppression, mixing studies, grid design (having designed and successfully tested special grids for a number of clients).
